Engr. Adefemi Afolabi has been in the service of the Lagos State Government for over 20 years and is currently the Head of Engineering and Standards in the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission. He has vast experience in Water and Wastewater Engineering, water and wastewater treatment plant design, project implementation, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment systems, process engineering, as well as de-flooding of drainage systems. He has been involved in the planning and execution of water and wastewater projects including the USD 12.5 Million Emergency Rehabilitation of Lagos State Water Corporation Water Infrastructures (Year 2001 – 2004), de-flooding of Kosofe LGA (2009 – 2010), Design and Construction of a 9,200PE Egan Igando Wastewater Treatment Plant, Igando, Lagos (2014), and other State projects. Engr. Adefemi Afolabi has a Bachelors degree in Chemical and Polymer Engineering from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos (1997), a Postgraduate Diploma in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Water Specialization) from University of Lagos, Akoka (2015), Lagos, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos (2019). He has cognitive training exposures at the Singapore Cooperation Programme (Water Supply and Water Quality Management, Singapore (2011), Continuing Professional Development Short Course on Wastewater Engineering, University of Newcastle, Newcastle, U.K (2013), Training on Aqua Designer Software of Wastewater Treatment Infrastructures, Germany (2014). He has attended various international conferences including Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition (WEFTEC), Chicago, U.S.A (2013), Water Technology and Environmental Control Exhibition and Conference (WATEC), Tel Aviv, Israel (2017). He is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a corporate member of The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), a member of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE), a member of the National working committee on the Development of Code of Practice for Waterworks Operation in Nigeria, and a member of Water Environment Federation (WEF).
